Name: Janis Fateweaver
Gender: Female
Age: ...the world may never know. Looks about 17.
Species: Human?
Parents/Siblings: Unknown
Bondmate: ---
Abilities: ...Unknown.
Appearance: Outwardly normal in almost every way, Janis herself admits that she was born average, and would apepar average still had she not taken steps to remedy that little problem. Everyone knows that witches traditionally wear black, right? Well, black is probably the only color Janis has no use for. The sole exception may be the really serious stuff, in which case, she'll dust off her (very serious and very traditionally pointy) black hat.
What she normally wears would probably be considered 'tacky', if it wasn't so artfully arranged. She doesn't really have a huge wardrobe, but what she does have, she seems to wear all of. Except that the colors and arrangements change with the seasons. It's really quite impressive... not that anyone really notices.
Whatever she wears, her hair is always a rich blue-black, usually either down in crazy almost-curls framing her youthful face, or tied back (barely) with a vibrantly colored scarf or pins. Her face itself is ordinary, though somehow she manages to pull off a mysterious air about the eyes, which are the colors of a raven's feathers. Literally. They're iridescent and everything. Her full height is actually unknown, but to everyone she meets, she seems to be somewhere around five and a half feet tall. Though again, sometimes she can look quite a bit taller.
Personality: Janis is an odd one. One moment she can be the most frizzy, flakey person alive. All laughter and teasing and mischeif. The next minute she can turn deadly serious, all frivolous thoughts and actions vanishing like a wisp of mist. Still, those moments of sobriety are few and far between. Normally, and here 'normal' is used only for lack of a better word, she's quite the little tease. Yes, she does palm readings and makes charms. No, you may not understand half of what she tells you from said readings, or know exactly what those charms are for. But hey, that's just part of the fun unpredictability of life, isn't it? If someone knew exactly what was going to happen, they would lead an incredibly boring life, wouldn't they?
Notes: No one is quite sure where she came from, and few know her last name at all. Those who do recognize it. Legends about Fateweaver are nearly as numerous as those life-threads in the demi-goddess' skein. Whether Janis is really The Fateweaver is something else entirely. Most likely, she'd just taken the name because she liked the sound of it. Or someone else in her family did. It'd be just like her to use that name, just to play with perceptions.
The charms she makes are always effective, the magic she uses is always potent, and her predictions are always very true. The problem is, those who come seeking her services nearly never know what they truely want, or more importantly, what they truely need. She provides both, though she may not tell her 'customers' either. Which is probably more of that life-affirming stuff she seems to enjoy so much.
